+With respect to electronics and printed circuit boards, soldering is the process of making a connection between two components by melting a metal - the solder - between them. Typically a soldering iron or soldering gun is used to do this, though an SMD Rework Station is needed when Surface Mount Technology and SMDs are involved.
Typical solder for electronics is a 60/40 mixture of tin and lead, but we also have a 93/7 ratio solder for situations where higher temperatures are involved.
Because solder contains lead, the fumes from molten solder can be hazardous, so MPJA also offers Solder Fume and Smoke Absorbers - a must for any circuit board repair station. |
