Interesting device read review for possible gotchas
I purchased two of these units to control two 200 watt LEDs for some serious yard lights. Things I have found to look out for in using these Buck converters is 1. Components may not be tightened to the heat sinks. This was easy to see since the thermal pads had spun around the mounting screws during shipping. 2 the connector blocks have screws tightened to such a degree you can tear the blocks off the circuit board if not restrained while loosening the connector screws.3 The PDF data sheet reverse labels the output +/- terminals. The PDF should be corrected immediately. Performance wise these buck converters perform exemplary. Output voltage or current is rock solid. The circuit board unlike many, has holes large enough to mount with a wide range of screw sizes. Use stand offs if mounting on conductive surfaces as component legs are longer than the heat sink mounting screws are high. Even lower power loads may require fan cooling depending on ambient air temperature as the heat sinks are rather small for the power capabilities of this unit. Overall I am quite happy with these buck converters. It is hard to find a better price performance alternative.
