Very nice PM DC motor, great for physics experiments | ||
This is really a very nice motor with nearly ideal characteristics. Very little cogging! Starts at 1V and 200mA, no-load. Speed vs voltage is nearly a straight line and no-load current draw is constant 200mA up to 12V. I joined two of these as a motor-generator set using 1/8" shrink tube and the no-load generator output voltage was a constant 1V less than the motor input voltage from 2V to 12V input. Two of these plus a variable DC metered bench supply, laser tachometer, and handheld DVM (all available from MPJA) would make a great motor physics demo setup. Also of note is the presence of a 1/8" dia. 2mm long rear shaft that could be attached to an optical disk for position feedback. | ||
