Basic, simple, does what it claims
This is doing the trick for running the mini PC that is doing DejaVu 5.1 surround upmixing in my car. I installed it a week ago and the PC boots up every time. Ignore the markings on the removable cover - the covers on this and the 5VDC unit are the same, and neither are correct to the respective units. Just follow the instructions included. The AC adapter for the PC was rated 12 VDC @ 2.5 A so I am only drawing 30 W peak. So hopefully it will be happy this summer after the car gets hot sitting in the sun and I turn it on. Since the car battery can easily drop when the engine isn't running, a boost/buck supply was needed, not a basic buck converter. Keep in mind that an isolated supply isn't going to work in a car since the negative will be common on the input and output (don't ask me how I know this, LOL).
