Noisy and smelly, I just pulled the unit out of the box and is smells like mothballs/naphthalene. Plugged the unit in and it grunted when I turned it on for the first time, and second and the third. I am guessing there is no in-rush current limiter.
Immediately the fan turned on, it is not 115F in my room. According to the manual it should only turn on after the unit reaches 115F or 50C which ever comes first :p I connected the output unloaded to my VOM calibrated 05/2015 2.0 = 2.05 5.0 = 5.04 10.0 = 10.11 15.0 = 15.12. Havent tested the current meter yet. I really hope the fan shuts off its loud, it will be annoying to be sitting next to for long periods of time.
I have had this for a year now and it has done well. Seems to just exceed specs and doesnt get too hot when using maxed out all day.
